I’ve been hooked on travel since I escorted my first groups in the 80’s. (A group to Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise group)
In those days, I hung out at the brick and mortar travel agency of a friend. Although my full time career (at that time) was in a different field, he always laughed that I was a ‘frustrated travel agent”. He was right.
I loved all aspects of travel. The sheer thought of being someplace exotic, or historic, or just sunny and warm. I would peruse the brochures for hours and ‘travel in my head’.
A career change in the late 80’s introduced something new to the mix. I began coordinating everything from sales meetings to conventions to trade shows. From San Antonio to Key West, from Orlando to Las Vegas. Anaheim to Cleveland. A later ‘personal interest’ led me to the world of fan conventions which I also formulated and produced.
And then the industry changed, and technology allowed me to dive into the industry I’d always wanted to be part of.
Travel.
So now I get to spend a lot of time planning travel for myself and others, helping others have the time of their lives and generally just immersing myself in the excitement of the world!
